At Refine Shine Detailing NZ, we stand behind the quality of our detailing services and ceramic coating applications. This Warranty Policy outlines what is covered, what isn’t, and how to make a claim.

1. Ceramic Coating Warranty
Warranty Period

Ceramic coatings applied by Refine Shine Detailing NZ include a 12-month durability guarantee, provided the coating is cared for correctly.

What’s Covered

Premature failure of the coating

Excessive loss of gloss within the warranty period

Peeling, cracking, or bubbling of the coating

Coating defects caused by incorrect application

What’s Not Covered

Damage caused by improper maintenance (e.g., abrasive washing, harsh chemicals)

Environmental fallout (bird droppings, tree sap, road tar) not removed promptly

Stone chips, scratches, or accident damage

Oxidation due to neglect or lack of proper washing

Water spotting caused by minerals or hard water

Wear from automated car washes or brush washes

Damage caused after vehicle handover

Customer Maintenance Requirements

To maintain warranty validity, customers must:

Wash the vehicle using safe wash methods

Avoid automatic or brush car washes

Use pH-neutral car shampoos

Avoid abrasive products or polishes

Have any concerns checked promptly by us

Failure to follow proper maintenance may void the warranty.

2. Detailing Service Warranty
Interior Detailing

We guarantee interior cleanliness and treatment quality at the time of service.
However, we cannot warranty:

Stains reappearing from deep-set spills

Odours caused by moisture, mould, or previous contamination

Wear, rips, or structural damage in seats and surfaces

Damage caused after the service date

Exterior Detailing

We warranty workmanship such as:

Proper polishing and enhancement

Finish quality at handover

We cannot warranty:

Scratches or swirl marks caused after the service

Damage caused by washing methods or external contaminants

Paint defects that were pre-existing or below surface level

3. Making a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim:

Contact us within 48 hours of noticing an issue

Provide photos and a description of the problem

Bring the vehicle to us for inspection in Christchurch

If covered under warranty, we will:

Reapply the coating

Re-polish the affected area

Retouch interior or exterior work as needed

All remedies are at our discretion.

4. Limitations of Warranty

Our warranty does not cover:

Pre-existing paint damage or imperfections

Damage caused by neglect, accidents, poor washing habits, or environmental conditions

Issues arising from using unapproved chemicals or tools

Commercial-use vehicles without prior agreement

We are not responsible for loss of use, rental cars, or indirect costs associated with warranty claims.
